This link of Via Algarviana begins near the Church of Marmelete and overlaps with the main section of the Via Algarviana (GR13) for almost 2 km, passing through the village of Marmelete. After a brief incursion on the road, Estrada 267, which goes in the direction of Aljezur, we take a right turning, among a eucalyptus plantation, down towards Cerca stream. Strawberry trees [arbutus] are commonly found in this part of the path and arriving in the river area, the landscape is mostly dominated by riparian vegetation, which makes it the ideal place for a stopover, as it offers plenty of shade. Back to the path, which now follows alongside the small river, the landscape is characterised by Gum Cistus (Cistus ladanifer) and also by Cork Oak Trees. We cross once more the Cerca stream and a few meters we enter into de Municipality of Aljezur.
